Make Them Want to Stay

Once prospective buyers have checked out the interior of the house, they will be interested in the outdoor space that's part of the property. Be it a condo with patio, a home on acreage, a townhouse with a balcony, or a green grass backyard, the outdoor space should be as inviting as the entry, perhaps even more so. A back porch like the one above offers a wonderful link between inside and out. Even if the property doesn't have something like this, buyers should be enticed by the outside area of the house. Let them envision the times ahead when it becomes their own. A colorful mat outside the door, a couple of chairs and a side table are all you need to say, "Don't leave."
